Six Ways to Stay Safe – Internet Safety Week
A for-profit organization conducted an informal lunch meeting where their internet specialist discussed what was happening with internet crimes and how it could impact their organization. These posters were placed in the break room to remind employees of the measures they could take to prevent their organization from being breached.
Remind employees of the six key ways to stay safe online within the organization.
Employees of a wide range of ages and professions were receptive to the lunch meeting, so the poster used visuals corresponding to some keywords from the participants. These words were “ominous,” “scary,” “deceptive,” and “hidden.”
Target the participants with six key ways they can help the organization stay safe and use visuals to represent the words used within the meeting by participants.
The posters were not only used for the breakroom but were resized to allow an email campaign within a few weeks, and they were sized to be screen savers that popped up a few weeks after that, which further enforced the time for participants to learn these measures.
Microsoft products were used to create wordage and send communications.
Graphics were created in Adobe Photoshop.
The poster was created in Adobe InDesign.
The results were exported by Adobe Acrobat and delivered through OneDrive.
Verbal qualitative measures were used to determine what participants thought of the posters, and participants were asked what numbers on the poster they were using within their work.
I recommended using the poster in an email campaign and as a screen saver to further the material’s longevity and refresh employees’ safety measures.
