Infographic – Look Up for Wonder
This infographic corresponded to the non-profit organization’s conference. This conference focused on nature, and one of the key talks was on the moon and the moon phases.
Provide participants with a downloadable poster to print off and help them remember the moon phases.
The moon phases are continually happening, but few people know about them. This poster corresponded to a key talk at the conference, which taught about the moon phases and encouraged participants to write about them in a journal.
The audience ranged in age from 16-88, and it was comprised of multiple educational levels.
Because of the age range, I felt the poster needed to be visually pleasing yet try to bridge the gap between the subjective visual aesthetic of a broad audience. The colors were picked to reflect space and complement the conference colors, which allowed the poster to stand out from the other materials yet present a unified look when placed side-by-side.
Microsoft products were used to create wordage and send communications.
Graphics were created in Adobe Photoshop andAdobe Illustrator.
The infographic was created in Adobe InDesign.
A survey was sent out after the conference, and one section asked participants if they utilized their moon phases postcard or screen saver in any manner.
I recommended that the infographic be sized so participants could utilize it differently. For instance, it could be used as a screen saver and printed off as a postcard, allowing participants to incorporate it into their journals.
