If you are working in Corel Painter for any length of time, you are going to lose a palette at least once. It is maddening, and the only way I could fix this problem was to restore to a default workspace and then rebuild my custom workspace from scratch.
Then I learned this trick.
This trick is worth some money because it is going to not only save you time but frustration. It was passed on to me, and I’m going to pass it on to you.
When Painter tells you that a panel is up, but you can’t find it because it is residing somewhere off your screen do the following steps:
- Go up to your windows menu option and uncheck the missing palette.
- Go back up to your windows menu option and recheck the missing palette. This is going to guarantee that Painter selects it.
- Press Alt + your spacebar in that order. I try to do this at the same time, and it has worked for me.
- Press your “M” key, which is the shortcut for move.
- Then press any arrow key. The lost box will attach to the cursor, and you can move the lost palette to the screen you want!
