The artist hates lettuce. I don’t know what is wrong with her.<\/p>\n

I captured this picture at the Louisville Zoo last year, and it makes me think of the
\nArtist every time. It is hard to give thanks in all circumstances, but it was important
\nto include this concept in Be ~Biblical Wisdom for Children because we, as North
\nAmericans in particular, have so much to be thankful for.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A thankful spirit looks at circumstances differently than an unthankful spirit.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I have told the Artist that if she was ever to truly experience hunger, she would
\nprobably even be thankful for lettuce. It is a difficult concept for her to grasp. I
\ndon’t fault her. I have my own food hang-ups. When I think of borscht soup, I
\nwould rather go hungry. Nevertheless, it is true, we have a lot to be thankful for,
\nand even if we have to eat lettuce or borscht, we still have food to be thankful
\nfor, which is better than starvation.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Sometimes we need to have pointed out all the things we have to be thankful for
\nbecause we are blinded by all that we have in life. Our mind seems to focus more
\nclearly on the one or two things we don’t have in life.<\/p>\n
