I wrote If Only ~ Biblical Truth for Children for a few reasons.<\/p>\n
First, I think about the \u201cIf Only\u201d thoughts frequently. It\u2019s maddening. I\u2019m not obsessed
\nwith these thoughts, and I usually don\u2019t let these thoughts drag me down, but they do
\npop into my head as I sit and ponder God and the life he has given us.<\/p>\n

I think its human nature to think \u201cif only\u201d at some point in life. We always see something
\nover yonder, and we think our life would be made if we had it. Today, I sat in a group and
\nlistened to a woman say she \u201cwished\u201d she could paint like another lady, and \u201cif only\u201d she
\nhad the creative spirit of that woman her art would be better. She is well over seventy. If
\nonly, or I wish is a common thought, which doesn\u2019t disappear because of age, and I think
\nit\u2019s beaten when we become aware of it and combat it with God\u2019s truth; however, we can\u2019t
\ncombat it when we have nothing to work with, which is where Bible memorization
\ncomes into play.<\/p>\n

Bible memorization is hard. For some reason, it seems harder the older I get. Here is what <\/p>\n Life is hard. The more time we spend strengthening our inner spirit, the more strength we will have for those hard times.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
\nI do, maybe it will help you. I print off the verses from my books
\n(http:\/\/www.jameswritinganddesign.com\/l.a.-james-free-resources.html<\/a>), and I give my kids each
\none to tape to their walls. I keep one in my room so that I can think about it throughout the week
\ntoo. Sometimes these verses will pop into my head at random times months or even years
\nafter I memorized them, and it brings me much comfort.<\/p>\n
