Here are some new painterly textures to help you create. We are going to be working in more manageable sets now that Christmas and January are over. I think many times it is easier to incorporate texture into images when it is more neutral based; however, colorful textures are the ones you want to quickly change your color scheme, so I have included a few Valentine Day colored texture schemes.
If you are new, read the following paragraphs, if you have been through this before, just jump down to the bottom.
As I’ve mentioned in past posts, things are being done differently now. I’ve only included some of my favorites as previews, and these are watermarked. The ones that are zipped are NOT watermarked. This is to prevent people from saving the file at later dates. The watermarked ones are some of my favorites for this month.

To Use These Resources
You must now download the zipped file, which will only be available for a limited amount of time.
Here are the rules for using my textures. They are simple.
Don’t take the textures and sell them.
Don’t claim them as your own.
Don’t redistribute them. Just link people back here to pick up their own textures.
More to Come
These files are available for a minimal time frame.
If you have missed out on this month’s textures, sign up at the bottom of this page to be notified of new blog posts. When you see a blog post for free textures, then I recommend you pick them up within the day, and you will never miss out on them.
Zipped Files
I’m sorry the files are no longer available.

Patty
Thank you for your generosity Lisa. Your textures are always beautiful.
I don’t check my email every day, so I was lucky to catch this month’s textures. Unfortunately, I missed last month’s. If we miss a month, do we fill out the form again to receive notifications? I did last month because I missed picking them up in time, but I am curious if I need to fill out the notification form every time I miss a month. Thanks.
L.A. James
You are welcome, Patty. No, you shouldn’t have to fill out the form but once to receive notifications of what goes up on the blog. The blog kind of runs itself in that regard. Once you sign up, it puts your email on the list, then it sends you an email whenever something new comes up on the blog. If you always look for the first couple of lines, that should tell you if it is a texture or not. I always have high intentions of writing more about what I am creating with textures, but then life happens, and I can’t seem to get to that all the time.
Just make sure you sign up at the bottom of one of the blog posts (where the textures are). If you go to my main website, which is where my books are located and you sign up for the newsletter that will put you on a different list, and you will never receive a notification about textures.
